Child dedications are a special time for parents to thank God for the gift of your child, and to to publicly commit to supporting and raising your child to know Jesus Christ. At Legacy Church, you are not only dedicating your child to God, you are also dedicating yourselves, as parents, to Christ and the church. Child Dedication

You are committing yourselves to maintaining a Christian home, because your child’s first impression of God comes from you. For that reason, you need to be diligent in your own commitment to experience, become and share the legacy of Christ.

Why a Child Dedication?

At Legacy Church, we recognize the importance of making a commitment to raise your child in a Christian manner. Child
Dedication are a way for parents to publicly confess their intent to raise their children in Christ.

Who can dedicate a child?

We believe that parents are given the responsibility for raising and nurturing a child throughout their life. Parents will answer to God for how they have impacted the life of their child. Because this authority and responsibility lies with the parents, only parents or legal guardians of a child may dedicate a child to the Lord.

Do I need to be a member of Legacy Church?

Yes, you need to be a member because you are making vows involving the church. We also as a
church body want to support you in anyway that we can.

What should I do on the day of dedication?

Please be at church 15 minutes early and sit towards the front of the sanctuary. The Pastor will
call you forward onto the stage when it is time.

Who should be a part of the dedication?

You may invite anyone that you would like to sit in the service. Your other children are welcome on the stage during the
dedication, but this is not necessary if you feel they would be more of a distraction to you during this time.

What should the baby and the family wear for the dedication?

There is no dress code for the family or the babies for dedication. Many parents elect to “dress
up” the child for this occasion. Please feel comfortable to wear what you would like.
