Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Legacy means, “something left behind.” When Christ left this earth, He left a legacy. His Legacy was the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit in-dwelt those who were gathered together in Jerusalem and they became the first part of the Church or Body of Christ.
In essence, they experienced the Legacy of Christ. When they became the Body of Christ, they transitioned from simply experiencing the Legacy of Christ and BECAME the Legacy of Christ. The Church is what Jesus “left behind” to effect the world. They effected the world by sharing the Legacy of Christ. The Church introduced those around them to the power of the Holy Spirit and in doing so, shared the Legacy of Christ with them.
So, we exist for these three reasons:
1 To Experience the Legacy of Christ
Legacy Church exists to provide a place where all Christians have the opportunity to experience the Legacy of Christ, or the Holy Spirit. We experience the Holy Spirit in revelation (bringing to our understanding), demonstration (allowing the power to work in us in a seeable manner), and actualization (living daily in the power of the Holy Spirit).
2To Become the Legacy of Christ
Legacy Church exists to live out the reality of being the Body of Christ. Legacy will teach and preach what it means to demonstrate God’s love through the power of the Holy Spirit. We recognize that being the Body of Christ, we are not to simply exist as such, but must live out that reality.
3 To Share the Legacy of Christ
Legacy Church exists to share the Legacy of Christ with others. We will demonstrate, by example, what it means to have Christ in us. We will be unashamed of the demonstration of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and look for opportunities to share the wonder that we have found with those we come into contact with.
